Yes, there is yet time to lose pounds and get into shape by summer - discover how you can sculpt a great body by using Pilates exercise videos.

What is Pilates Anyway?

Pilates is the exercise that was first developed for dancers who needed to have long, lean muscles – they wanted a workout that didn’t make them bulky but still made them strong. The foundation of Pilates is having a strong center (you’re core). Many women, most especially mothers who have given birth by Cesearean section, have a challenge with this area and want a good workout without having to go to the gym. Every Pilates workout video uses a systematic approach to exercise by offering many different levels within the same move, making it a perfect workout for anyone.

What will it do for me?

There are six important principles to a good Pilates workout: breathing, concentration, control, centeredness, how precise movement is and flow of the body – the most important aspect being breathe and a strong core. The founder of Pilates (Joseph Pilates) always felt that if you’re mid section was weak; the entire body would be weak. Pilates makes ladies look strong and feel great and vital. Pilates is a big help for improvement of mental focus. At times, moms think about too much all at once and can easily become overwhelmed. Pilates puts a stop to all that and it helps to improve mental concentration to provide a more productive and stress free lifestyle. And if you are concerned about joint or knee pain that is commonly associated with many forms of exercise, you’re worries are over - Pilates won’t place stress on joints due to it’s gentle and flowing style of movement.
